Summary | Flotsam is a wordless picture book that is set on a beach. It is about a young boy who finds an old camera that has washed up on the beach. The boy has the film from the camera developed only to find strange pictures of odd subjects. The pictures range from sea life and their adventures to photographs of children holding photos of other children. In the end the boy sends the camera back out to sea, and it makes its journey to a little girl. |
Description of how you would use this book | As a teacher, I have used this book as a writing prompt, having students write caption for each page. I have also used this book as a precurser to writing about art. |
